Hot Undersea Volcano's Erupt Near Tonga

An underwater volcano exploded near Tonga in the South Pacific to stunning effect a few days ago. The pictures of gas and steam erupting out of the surface of the water continues to captivate the world.

"Tonga's head geologist, Kelepi Mafi, said there was no apparent danger to residents of Nuku'alofa and others living on the main island of Tongatapu. Officials also said it may be related to a quake with a magnitude of 4.4 which struck last March 13 around 35 kilometers from the capital at a depth of nearly 150 kilometres."

In this video the onlookers are stunned by the sight of the plumes of steam, ash and smoke that are shooting up to 100 meters into the air, off the coast of Nuku’Alofa, Tonga. Towards the end of the video you overhear the viewers beginning to panic, fearing that the eruptions are growing towards them.
