Infinity Mirror : : panorama
Yayoi Kusama's “Fireflies on the Water' Installation is part of Mirrored Years, a large scale major exhibition that spans decades of her artistic practice.
Famously involved with obliteration of reality and even her self, in all her life's work, she has been obsessed with dots or in effect blotting out reality. Her fields of dots are either 'infinity dots' (positive) or 'infinity nets' (negative).
Here, Peter Murphy magically captures a globular interrior of the work for us to zoom around in, which in an intimate way demonstrates a metaphor of the universe itself .
The exhibition is at the MCA (Museum of Contemporary Art), Sydney, Circular Quay until June 8
