Liquid Skins, Structures and Topologies
are flexible articulating skin structures that surprise, entertain and amaze by Daniel Piker, whose video Deployable/Transformable Structures, are some of his
"experiments with deployable, transformable and bistable structures, auxetics and linkages."
In pursuit of Daniel's goal he "seeks to find the geometry, and the topology of a structure – the overall arrangement of elements and which connects to which."
I'm guessing those "skins" may have some engineering applications, in the aerospace and architecture industries ?
Perhaps you may like to download the patterns for some of the paper folding seen in the video: (pdf)
The really apt music track is Grubby Weasel by Tipper.
